Greypointe History and Bloodlines

Wrongside O'Memphis

Greypointe Kennel was founded in Tennessee where I began my over 20 year association with class English Pointers.  In Tennessee, I utilized proven horseback All-Age bloodlines primarily such as the Builder’s Addition family (Addition’s Go Boy, Builder’s Free Boy) and Rebel bloodlines thru the producing female, Nell’s Rambling On.  I won with the likes of Chief’s River Guardian (direct son of Miller’s Chief out of a daughter of Guard Rail) and Builder’s Rebel Jazzman (Out of a son of Builder’s Free Boy and an Addition’s Go Boy female).  With the expansion of walking field trial organizations and my long time association with the National Bird Hunters Futurity, I began to identify and monitor qualities in these competitive animals and introduce these bloodlines into the kennel.  In January 1992, I acquired Wrong Side O’Memphis, a precocious pointer female who placed first at the 1993 NBHA Futurity Puppy Classic and a finalist at the 1994 Futurity along with later shooting dogs wins.  She was out of Jerry Kilgore’s shooting dog winner and producer Reed’s Rushing Jake and a direct daughter of Elhew Strike.  I bred Memphis to the 1992 NBHA Futurity winner and multiple Champion Therapy to produce a notable litter with every dog placing in field trials.  This began the line that continues to this day including RU National Champion Greypointe Comanchero, CH Greypointe Cannonero, 2006 AFTCA National Walking Shooting Dog Champion Greypointe Espada, Derby Classic and shooting dog winner Greypointe Fandango and field trial winning and super wild bird dog, Greypointe Flamenco along with the next generation in development
