Greypointe Flamenco

We lost Greypointe Flamenco coming eleven years old this week after a short illness. "Gypsy" was whelped in January 2003 in a small litter which also brought forth Shooting Dog Classic winner Greypointe Fandango who preceded her in death. Gypsy was whelped from a daughter of CH Therapy and her sire was The Usual Suspect, of Guard Rail and Miller's Silver Bullet lineage. Gypsy was a very precocious bird finder often seeming to find every bird from a covey if allowed to work the singles. A number of my friends loved to bird hunt with her and she had many pheasant and quail shot over her points over the years. Her intensity and style on point was a thing of beauty. Gypsy was trialed sparingly with her record accounting for six wins - all Derby or Shooting Dog placements.

We bred her to Gary Keel's Turbo with only one litter resulting and a repeat mating failing to whelp. This mating produced two wonderful dogs for our kennel - 2X CH, 2X RU CH Greypointe Gladiador with three national titles and Greypointe Gloriosa, a super wild bird dog and trial winner herself. Gladiador continues to be campaigned sparingly and may add to her record. Greypointe Gloriosa has produced young all age competitors Greypointe Islamorada, Greypointe Izquierda and S F Strongwind along with Derby winner Greypointe Invierna from a mating of SF McKenzie to Glory. Flamenco is also the grand dam of pups by Gloriosa and CH S F Cufflink already placed in Derby stakes this fall as puppies. Gypsy was a very happy dog her whole life even as arthritis and crippled legs slowed her to a trot. We will miss her greeting each morning from her number one kennel position closest to the barn door.
